Building a Business Around Your Perfect Day

This concept of The Perfect Day is really how La Colectiva was born.

But before I tell you that, let’s go back to 2019.

I was working as a director for a corporation. I was doing an HQ visit in in Vancouver, BC and grabbed coffee with a mentor of mine.

Now, this mentor worked for my company, but she and her sister also had opened their own brick & mortar business - a fitness studio + vegan cafe + small retail shop.

I asked her how she came up with the concept for her business and she said, “Well I just envisioned my perfect day - group fitness, noursishing food, and shopping with my sister - and then built a business around it, so going to work everyday would be my perfect day.”

I was so blown away by the simplicity but power of that concept… this idea that you can CREATE the thing you want. Create the business, the life, the whatever, thats based on how you want to spend your time.

I thought about that conversation everyday for years and really started to explore this concept of DESIGNING YOUR LIFE. Creating the life you want, versus living the default life.

So when Loren & I met and got into conversations about our goals and dreams, and we idea of us creating a business together sparked, we used this concept to come up with the model.

We designed La Colectiva with the vision of our perfect day - a combination of building community, holistic wellness, purpose-driven work, and fun - knowing that when you dive headfirst into your passions, fueled by a sense of purpose, something incredible unfolds: Your life effortlessly aligns, flowing with intention, harmony, and an abundance of joy.

This means, in a sense, we get to live our perfect day everyday when we come to work.

Monday’s are met with excitement.

Challenges are embraced and fueled by purpose.

Decisions are made with intention and a clear vision in mind.

And it all came from this concept of our perfect day.

Now, I invite you to take a moment and imagine your perfect day. What would it look like? What would you be doing, where would you be, and who would you be with? Now, ask yourself—what’s stopping you from building a life, a business, or a project around it?

The truth is, you have the power to design the life you want. It might not happen overnight - in fact, it definitely won’t - but taking that first step toward aligning your life with your dreams can open doors you never knew existed.

And it just starts with a vision.
